Setting up a proxy in the Drony app

Drony is a useful proxy client for Android that allows you to set up private proxies with username and password authorization, covering your entire system. While it's not available on the Google Play store, you can easily download it from third-party sources. It works on any version of Android above 4.1, making it versatile for use on both smartphones and tablets.

How to set up a proxy in Drony app

Download and install the Drony application on your smartphone.

1. Launch Drony and navigate to the “Settings” tab.

   

2. In the “Networks” section, you can configure a proxy for both WiFi and mobile connections. For this guide, we'll focus on setting up a WiFi connection.

   

3. A list of available WiFi networks will appear. Select the one you wish to use with the proxy.

   

4. In the proxy settings menu for the selected network, choose the “Manual” configuration option in the “Proxy Type” field.

   

5. In the “Enter proxy hostname” field, enter the IP-address of your proxy server and click “Okay”.

   

6. In the “Port” field, enter the port number of your proxy and confirm the setting.

   

7. Enter your username in the “Username” field and click “OK”.

   

8. Enter your password in the next field, double-check the data, and click the confirm button.

   

9. Exit the setup menu and switch to the “Log” tab. Click the “Enable” button to activate the proxy.

   

   

10. Visit any website to check your IP and ensure the setup is correct. The VPN icon in the status bar should be visible, and the IP check should display the configured IP address.

    

By following these steps, you can set up a proxy in Drony on your Android device, allowing you to access geo-restricted sites, use services where your real IP is blocked, and browse the internet anonymously. This setup is also suitable for online gaming and using mobile apps that are restricted or have limited functionality in your region. For the best results, it is recommended to use private proxies, as they provide complete anonymity and have a lower risk of being blocked.
